Jeremiah Yisreal was responsible for a bi-monthly talent and fashion show held at various midtown hotels. Auditions were held at the newly minted Temple of Issachar in hopes of drawing not only models and singers, but new congregates. Annette Denvil was still a senior at the High School of Music & Art when she entered the storefront on 148th street in September of 1980. A lifelong singer, Denvil did not disappoint and was added to the bill. A unique relationship formed quickly thereafter, with Jeremiah assuming the role of producer, father figure, spiritual leader, and lover.
