Little Chris & the Righteous Singers

Incorrectly credited as "Little Criss" on his debut 45 for both Bill Tyson’s Gospel Master and the minuscule South Shore labels, Chris and his bracing falsetto turned in an unforgettable performance on this 1976 follow-up. If only someone could remember Chris’ last name... Issued on the One Way subsidiary Skyway, “I Thank You Lord” soars through the kind of lofty harmonies expected of the Impressions, but not your average spiritual singing group. The Righteous Singers, and their wah-obsessed guitarist, remain as frustratingly unidentified as the enigmatic Chris himself.
