Masonic Wonders

One of the longest running gospel quartets in the United States, let alone Milwaukee, the Masonic Wonders have been continuously performing since 1956. After recording a single in the early 1960s for the Chess subsidiary Checker, they did not have another release until “I Call Him,” nearly 20 years later. Built around bass player/band leader Charles Carter’s groove, with brothers Charles McCullum, Amos McCullum, and James McCullum, urging him on, “I Call Him” is a gospel funk missing link.
