Reverend Solomon King was the pastor of Chicago's Glory Bound Missionary Baptist Church. He recorded this song at Cash Recording Studios with several members of his ministry's singing group. Besides helming his church, Rev. King toured around the Midwest as a traveling revival preacher and performed with the Southern Faith Singers, who appear on this LP. Before their Jade release, The Glory Bound Singers also recorded a single on the Nahum label. "Didn't It Rain," the freewheeling spiritual classic, garnered mainstream popularity in the early 1960s with a version by Evelyn Freeman and Exciting Voices.
