Guitarist Joe Pipps boomeranged back to Texas after a long series of gigs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. He settled in Dallas with a wife and child before reappearing at Lowlands with Sassy in 1974, a spare key still in his pocket. Sleeping in a flea-bag motel, the quartet of Pipps, Bubba Goode, Jerry Joseph, and Ronnie Faught demo'd dozens of songs. Their shining moment, however, can be found on "She's My Daughter," inspired by Pipps' longing to return to a stable life in Dallas after living most of his between the pillar and the post.
