In one of Felton's notebooks there is a startling but insightful entry on May 14, 1967, "Held premiere for opinions from teenagers on the songs." Although the details of this focus group are long forgotten, it seems self evident that the only tune in Double U's catalog even geared towards the youth was "Running Mod" from Mikado Michigan's Young Generation. The band's ted Sivrais was connected to Perry Horvath through family, adding another bizarre layer to the Double U onion. although the material is straight forward 60s punk, it's interesting to note that lead singer Alan Crowell is black. Any way you slice it, the Young Generation was far out in the conservative quarters of Felton Williams.
