Eight songs of adrenaline-fueled post-hardcore made by four shirtless teenagers from nearby Bethesda, Maryland, issued on tape in an edition of 50 and shelved for 40 years.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSinger Derek Denckla’s aspirations for these recordings were specific: “I wanted something that sounded like tribal and fucked up and kind of crazy,” he said. “But our sound wasn’t like that. And to Don’s credit, he resisted our desire to sound like Rites of Spring. He was like, ‘You guys are a little more melodic than that.’” As such, Carpe Diem emerged as much “Celebrated Summer” as Revolution, with subtle hints of Minneapolis punk jangle poking through the youthful yelps. MacKaye, for his part, played the silent observer, making minor suggestions but largely confining himself behind the board with Zientara. “We kind of wanted him to be our punk rock dad, and he was not interested in that,” Denckla confessed.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eFor Numero's 15th Hand Screened LP, we've remastered \u003ci\u003eTrust Little To Tomorrow\u003c\/i\u003e from the original analog tapes, transcribed Denckla's wails for a lyric sheet, and wrapped the entire thing in a silk-screened chipboard jacket.
