Spinning out of a Me Decade marriage into a divorced solitude in the Ozarks, Crow Johnson penned these hopeful laments in 1980. Accompanied only by an electric piano and drum machine, Johnson muses on a new infatuation in “You Got Me.” That enthusiasm wanes on “Ridin’ In The Sky,” where Johnson recalls a magical hang gliding trip being derailed by her ex. Issued on her own Sassafras label in 1980, Crow’s suite of divorce meditations are a reminder looking back and looking forward are not mutually exclusive.
