Orvin Yoes

Orvin Yoes, Bill Floyd’s Southland Serenaders: The Vampire b/w Yes I Love You

No-fi country from the wilds of Sacramento. This creepy crawly original jumped out of Orlin Hammitt’s C & H Music shop in early 1960, too soon for the all hallows crowd, and suffered an untimely demise. A foley dream, “The Vampire” inserts cat, dog, and human howls, lightening, tolling bells, and what sounds like slowly ripped paper. Is that surface noise or rain?
