The toast of Tumwater, Washington, Unwound returned in early 1993 with their sophomore 7” on the venerable Kill Rock Stars label. The A-side’s two-pronged punch of “Kandy Korn Rituals” and “Against” is a ferocious maelstrom of screaming and distortion. The flip was recorded live in a basement, all seven minutes and eighteen seconds crammed onto a 33 rpm single for extra fidelity. “This isn’t Georgia, this is Tumwater,” Justin Trosper screamed.
