Julie Doiron

Broken Bundle

The original 90s soft grunge sad girl.

The first two Julie Doiron albums on vinyl, shipped to you in the same mailer. First time pressing of 1996's Broken Girl, featuring the unlikely internet sensation "August 10." 1997's Loneliest In The Morning back in print for the first time this century!

Broken up, new love, pregnant, grandma dying. The usual 21st trip around the sun. In between Eric's Trip albums, boyfriends, and dress sizes, Julie strummed her downcast bedroom pop diaries through a Rat II distortion pedal and quit the scene. Expanded 29th anniversary edition includes rare 7" tracks and photo of Julie with her dog Samantha.

Cut to: Julie in Memphis. With Eric's Trip on ice, the Duchess of Canadian flannel flew south in December '96 to cut an album of postpartum depression ballads. Joined by Giant Sand's Howe Gelb and The Grifters' David Shouse, Loneliest In The Morning captures Julie's blue period with trembling accuracy. Hanky not included.
